I Asked AI About the Fundamentals of the Fallout, and You'll Be Surprised!

Fallout ZAX AI

In the app that I made, FH Companion, there is an AI Wikipedia section where you can ask anything you want about the Fallout universe (just like the one on our blog). I asked it eight fundamental questions about Fallout games and it surprised me with the answers, so I thought to share them with you. FH Companion is an app for all-things-Fallout, and is available on the Google Play Store and Amazon App Store (for now) if you want to try it.

Listen to this article!

I started with the ultimate question - which Fallout game would it pick in the Fallout universe? From there, we explored the awesome bits like companions, weapons, and all the other cool stuff. To my surprise, he had his favorites all picked out, and he had great reasons for each choice too. Trust me, it's a journey you won't regret!

Question 1: If you had to choose one Fallout game, which game would it be?

Answer 1: That's a difficult question! Each Fallout game offers a unique and compelling experience. However, if forced to choose just one, I would select Fallout: New Vegas. Its compelling narrative, branching storylines with significant player agency, deep character development, and memorable factions create an unparalleled sense of immersion and replayability within the Fallout universe. While other titles excel in specific areas - Fallout 3's exploration of the Capital Wasteland, Fallout 4's settlement building, or Fallout 2's sprawling world - New Vegas's refined writing and impactful choices make it stand out as the most robust and satisfying overall experience for me.

Question 2: If you have to choose one protagonist from Fallout games, which one would it be?

Answer 2: That's a difficult question! Each Fallout protagonist offers a unique and compelling experience. However, if forced to choose just one, I would select the Vault Dweller from the original Fallout. While the player shapes their character's personality and actions, the Vault Dweller's journey embodies the core themes of the series: the struggle for survival in a harsh post-apocalyptic world, the search for a better future, and the moral ambiguity inherent in such a setting. Their quest to find a water chip for Vault 13 is a foundational narrative for the entire franchise, and their impact on the Wasteland is arguably the most far-reaching of any single protagonist. The choices made by the player as the Vault Dweller set the stage for the events in subsequent games and shape the future of the Fallout universe in profound ways.

Question 3: If you have to choose one follower from the Fallout games, which one would it be?

Answer 3: That's a difficult question! Choosing a single companion from the vast Fallout universe is a tough task, as each game offers such a diverse and compelling cast. However, if forced to choose just one, I would select Dogmeat from Fallout 4. While companions like Fawkes (Fallout 3) possess impressive combat abilities and loyalty, and ED-E (Fallout: New Vegas) offers unique technological assistance, Dogmeat's unwavering loyalty and simple, unconditional affection make him a truly valuable companion, especially given the harsh realities of the Commonwealth. His ability to locate items is also incredibly useful. While other companions offer complex storylines and interactions, Dogmeat's simple presence provides a comforting constant in the often brutal world of Fallout 4.

Question 4: If you have to choose one weapon from the Fallout games, what would it be?

Answer 4: That's a difficult question! There are so many fantastic weapons across the Fallout universe. However, if forced to choose just one, I'd select the unique weapon "The Gobi Campaign" from Fallout: New Vegas. It's a powerful, high-capacity, and highly modifiable hunting rifle. Its versatility, allowing for both stealthy sniping and close-quarters combat with appropriate modifications, makes it incredibly useful throughout the Mojave Wasteland. While other weapons might boast higher damage output or unique effects, the Gobi Campaign's balance of power, customizability, and overall effectiveness makes it my top pick.

Question 5: If you have to choose one armor from the Fallout games, which one would it be?

Answer 5: That's a tough question! There are so many excellent armors across the Fallout games. However, if forced to choose just one, I'd select the Power Armor (specifically, a suit of T-45d or T-51b power armor) from the main Fallout series games. Its combination of high protection, durability, and the ability to equip various modifications makes it superior in overall effectiveness and versatility compared to other armors in the franchise, even considering unique armors like the Nuka-Cola Quantum armor from Fallout 4. While certain unique armors might offer marginally better stats in specific areas, the upgradeability and availability of the Power Armor across multiple games make it the most consistently reliable choice for survival in the wasteland.

Question 6: If you have to choose one area where you could live in the Fallout universe, where exactly would it be?

Answer 6: That's a difficult question! The Fallout universe presents many challenging, yet potentially appealing, locations to live. However, considering safety, resource availability, and overall quality of life, I would choose the relatively stable and well-defended community of Sanctuary Hills in Fallout 4. While the Commonwealth is still a dangerous place, Sanctuary Hills offers a pre-war house with a defensible location, access to relatively plentiful resources (after some work), and proximity to Diamond City, a relatively well-established trade center. While it's not perfect, it represents a better starting point for survival than most other locations in the Fallout universe. Other options, such as Vault 111 (before the escape), while seemingly safe, lack the long-term sustainability that Sanctuary Hills offers.

Question 7: If you have to choose one character build in Fallout universe, what would be your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats? Make it short.

Answer 7: For a balanced approach across all Fallout games, I'd choose:

  • Strength: 6 - Provides good carrying capacity and melee effectiveness.
  • Perception: 4 - Sufficient for spotting enemies and critical hits.
  • Endurance: 7 - High health and radiation resistance are crucial for survival.
  • Charisma: 3 - Not vital for my preferred playstyle.
  • Intelligence: 5 - Allows for a good variety of skills and perks.
  • Agility: 6 - Important for Action Points and avoiding damage.
  • Luck: 5 - A happy medium for critical hits and other lucky events.

Question 8: If you have to choose one, which faction from the Fallout games would you choose?

Answer 8: That's a difficult question! Each Fallout game offers compelling factions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. However, if forced to choose just one across all the games, I would select the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 (with acknowledgment of their different interpretations across the series). While their methods are sometimes questionable and their adherence to pre-war technology can seem rigid, their core mission of preserving technology and protecting humanity from itself resonates strongly. Their evolution throughout the games, showing both flaws and potential for positive change, makes them a more compelling choice than the often purely self-serving motivations of other factions. Though other factions, like the NCR or the Minutemen, present compelling alternatives depending on the specific game, the Brotherhood's overarching goals, while sometimes clumsily executed, have a lasting appeal.

So there you go, based on AI Wikipedia from FH Companion, the best game in the Fallout series is Fallout: New Vegas, Vault Dweller from the original Fallout is the best protagonist, and Dogmeat from Fallout 4 is the best companion! Unique weapon from Fallout: New Vegas, the Gobi Campaign scout rifle, and Power Armor (T-45d or T-51b) are deemed as the best weapon and armor choice. Sanctuary Hills is the best place to live, and the Brotherhood of Steel is the best faction to choose. Overall, the best stats for creating a player is also not a bad choice; Strength: 6, Perception: 4, Endurance: 7, Charisma: 3, Intelligence: 5, Agility: 6, and Luck: 5.
